Attracting more tourists to Turkey is a constant effort involving both government and industry, and exhibiting at international trade fairs has become an indispensable tool. This year's Moscow International Tourism Fair (MITT) on March 17–21 presented rich opportunities for the exposure needed to put Turkey in the tourism spotlight. The 3,000 participating companies from over 150 countries demonstrate the fair's importance for Turkish tourism. Last year more than 85,000 visitors attended the event, and early figures for this year's trade fair, which ended on Sunday, are equally promising. Last year professionals accounted for 74 percent of all attendees.
