Gul presented honorary press card by BYEGM head Melek

President Abdullah Gul yesterday received members of the Press Card Commission, led by Prime Ministry Directorate General of Press and Information (BYEGM) head Salih Melek, at the Cankaya Presidential Palace. During the meeting, Melek told Gul about their work to boost the ease of use and benefits of press cards for members of the media. Melek also presented Gul an honorary press card. Praising Melek's efforts, Gul said acquiring a press card is a good reference for a press member. In related news, at the commission's first meeting this year at BYEGM headquarters in Ankara, Melek said that they would continue working to improve the cards. Also speaking about new programs to improve media members' access to communications and other press-related technologies, Melek said these would soon be unveiled with a promotional campaign called "Better Communications, Better Media."
